Capcom’s new project, Pragmata, is a single-player, sci-fi action adventure game. Capcom is achieving record high profits and has made core franchises like Resident Evil and Street Fighter. Because of the success of Capcom, Pragmata is highly anticipated. Pragmata is set to release on April 17, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Windows, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
Gameplay
The game follows Hugh, who is a spacefarer, and Diana, who is an android, as they fight together against hostile AI. The player is able to control both Hugh and Diana at the same time, and they both have different gameplays. Diana’s gameplay focuses on hacking into an AI’s defense system and weakening the hostile AI for Hugh to attack. During Diana’s hacking, a puzzle pops up for the players. During the puzzle, the player must move the cursor across a smaller grid on the side of the screen to reach the finish spot, which will weaken the AI’s defense system. Reaching the finish line can also give you additional bonus nodes that may bring bonus help in combat. While Hugh’s gameplay is different, he is more focused on dodging with his jetpack and doing damage with firearms, but to really do damage, you have to wait until Diana hacks. You have to hack, damage, and dodge at the same time because you control both of the characters, which is a unique system the game has to offer.
Plot
The game is set in a lunar research station, and Diana and Hugh work together to stop hostile AIs known as IDUS that control the station. The demo released for this game, and players have said the plot revolves around their effort to leave the lunar station and return to Earth. This is Capcom’s first new IP since 2012; many fans can’t wait to see what Capcom has in store for this game, considering their previous success with other games.
