With March Madness recently coming to a close, that means it is time for the opening of the transfer portal. For the Tennessee Women’s Basketball coaching staff, that means it is time to rebuild the entire starting lineup from scratch. Just recently, every single player from the Lady Vols has entered the transfer portal, and every incoming freshman besides one has decommitted. However, head coach Kim Caldwell seems to be doing a great job rebuilding, as the reason for the transfer from past players remains unknown, she continues to work diligently to remake her team, and bring back the Lady Vols legacy.
Haper Peterson (Stanford)
Haper Peterson, a 6-foot-3 sophomore, is transferring in from Stanford after playing a limited role her freshman and sophomore years due to a season-ending injury. She just averaged 3.9 minutes and 1.1 points per game. However, Peterson came into Stanford ranked as the 87th recruit in the country, with several Division 1 offers.
Avery Mills (Liberty)
Avery Mills, a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard, was Liberty’s leading scorer, averaging 15.3 points per game, four rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 30.7 minutes per game. Mills was the first transfer for the Lady Vols and is projected to have a successful season, as she is a very efficient shooter (42.9% from the field), which is what Tennessee seemed to lack this past year.
Gabby Minus (Only Incoming Freshman)
4-star recruit, Gabby Minus is the only remaining recruit from the 2026 high school class. Minus is ranked 44th in her class via 247SportsComposite. Minus being the only incoming freshman, she has a target on her back and very high expectations. For Vols fans, Minus has been the only constant, as she has chosen to stay at Tennessee, despite the recent roster changes.
