Sabrina Carpenter has been performing on the main stage at Coachella since 2024. This festival season, she’s headlining for the first time. She’s been teasing her performance on her Instagram for a couple of weeks now, and during an interview with Perfect magazine, she stated it’s “the most ambitious show I’ve ever done.” In fact, she’s been preparing for the performance for seven months now. Fans were beyond excited for her set, and now that one out of two weekends of Coachella is over, they can’t stop talking about it.
Carpenter began her show on Friday, April 10th, at 9:05 pm (Pacific time). It started with a video of her getting pulled over by a cop played by Sam Elliot, which then went straight into “House Tour”. Later in the show, Susan Sarandon made an appearance for a seven-minute skit, playing an older version of Carpenter. Will Ferrell also made a cameo as an electrician, Corey Fogelmanis as a waiter, and Samuel L. Jackson voiced an interlude. She ended the show with “Tears,” propelled on a car seat atop a waterfall.
The whole theme was a representation of the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles. Carpenter embodies the Hollywood glamor and popstar quality, so it only made sense. There were many references to Marilyn Monroe throughout the show, along with retro cars and signs within the set.
As she said early on in the show, “I can’t believe I’m headlining Coachella…I mean, I can a little bit, but it’s nicer to say that, right?”
The performance was basically Carpenter’s takeover of Southern California. From her vocals to her visuals, this performance was one to remember.
