What Happens In The First One?
Grace, played by Samara Weaving, is set to marry a guy named Alex whose family, the Le Domas run a very successful gaming company. At their wedding, Grace has to play a game according to a family tradition. Every new family member had to pull a card from a box, which decided what game she would play. Grace drew Hide-and-Seek. Thinking the game was harmless, she goes and hides while the Le Domas get geared up, ready to hunt her. She later finds out that the game isn’t harmless when her husband Alex reveals that his family is cursed. If a new member draws the card Hide-and-Seek, the rest of the family has to ritually sacrifice them before dawn, or they die instead. Grace survives the Le Domas until dawn while getting beaten the whole movie, even getting shot in her hand.
Synopsis Of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come
Right after Grace survived Le Domas’ attempt to sacrifice her for a ritual, she collapses outside her home and is taken to the hospital. There she reunited with her sister, whom she had abandoned when they were little. While that is happening, there are six elite families called the Council that are notified that the Le Domas are dead and have been killed by a bride. This has led to the “High Seat” being out in the open for the other elite families to take. The “High Seat” is the power to control all the other elite families, which control basically everything in this world, like the police. While Grace is in the hospital, one member of the family, the Wilkinsons try to kill her in the hospital, but ultimately leads them to explode because they tried to kill her before the competition had started. Moments later, Grace and her sister Faith are kidnapped and brought to the complex where the competition will begin. They are tied to a chair while Satan’s representative, the Lawyer, explains the competition. The four remaining families must kill her before dawn, just like the last movie, but this time to get the High Seat and a ring that basically means infinite power. Grace and Faith have to survive until dawn while being handcuffed in the beginning, and four families are hunting them. They eventually do so by Grace using a loophole in the game by marrying one of the elite family members, which gives the family the ring and the High Seat. But right after she gets married, Grace stabs her husband, giving her the ring and the High Seat. She uses that power to kill all the remaining members and remove herself from the family so she and her sister can be free.
My Opinion
This new sequel lives up to the first movie, and it might even exceed it. It has the same thrill and excitment to its earlier movie. The comedy in this film was great. At the beginning of the movie, I hated the relationship between the sisters because they hated each other and just did stupid things in the beginning that I blame Faith for, but the movie did a great job developing their relationship, making them like each other a lot. I personally rate this movie a 5/5. I recommend watching it.
