The Las Vegas Raiders have the first pick in the draft, and unless something very unforeseen happens, they will be selecting Fernando Mendoza. Mendoza is a quarterback out of Indiana University. He won the Heisman and the national championship and is the best quarterback prospect in the nation. The Raiders are in desperate need of a franchise quarterback and are hoping Mendoza will be their guy.
The New York Jets have the second pick in this year’s draft, and I think they will take one of the best prospects available in Rueben Bain Jr. The pass rusher is considered one of the best players in the draft, and at an important position on the defensive end, the Jets hope to get their guy for the future. Bain can line up anywhere on the defensive line, but will likely be an edge rusher at the next level.
The Arizona Cardinals have the third pick in the draft, and they will likely take an offensive tackle. Spencer Fano and Francis Mauigoa are the best two tackles in this draft class, and it’s really close. Spencer Fano, I think, is a little better right now because he has fewer weaknesses in his game and is more versatile on the offensive line, so I think the Cardinals will take him with the third pick. The 6-foot-6, 302-pound tackle from Utah can play left or right tackle and is definitely a player to keep your eye out for in the future.
