The new season of Broadway in Cincinnati for 2026 and 2027 has come out! These are the shows scheduled to play from September 15th, 2026 to June 13th, 2027. The Great Gatsby: This show is based on the classic American story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The musical is a journey filled with adventure, love, wealth, and loss, all set in the Roaring Twenties. The musical score is influenced by jazz and pop music, all of which was written by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen. It runs for two and a half hours with one intermission. The show plays in Cincinnati from September 15th to September 27th, 2026. 

Boop! The musical: This musical is based on Betty Boop, a famous cartoon character who has been popular for nearly a century. In this show, Betty dreams of a day off from her normal black and white world, which leads her on a bright and bubbly adventure to New York City! This comedy is full of color, fun, and laughter. There is no exact time stating how long the performance is. The show runs from October 20th to 25th, 2026. 

The Sound of Music: This musical is based on the beloved Julie Andrews movie from 65 years ago, featuring a nun, a retired general, and his seven children. The dearly cherished musical will teach audiences to sing once again and give its tale of resilient love to a new generation of music lovers. This show runs for two hours and forty minutes with one intermission. The musical is playing from November 10th to November 15th, 2026. 

Twas the Night Before… By Cirque du Soleil: This holiday extravaganza is a twist on one of the most famous Christmas stories that has been retold year after year. This show runs for an hour and twenty minutes with no intermission. It can be watched from December 2nd to December 13th.  

Six: The beloved musical has returned to Cincinnati! This wonderful Broadway musical is about the six wives of King Henry VIII of England. These six women retell their tales to the audience with sensational pop music and outfits. The musical itself has won 23 awards in the 2021/2022 season on Broadway. It runs for an hour and twenty minutes with no intermission. The musical can be watched from January 5th to January 10th, 2027. 

 Maybe Happy Ending: This is a newer musical that is based on an encounter between two people that sparks a journey of adventure and maybe love. It is an exploration of what it means to be human, even if the main characters aren’t. It’s set in a near-future version of Seoul, South Korea. This musical has been called one of the ‘best musicals of the year” (USA Today), running for an hour and twenty minutes with no intermission. The musical can be watched from January 19th to 31st, 2027. 

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast: This beloved movie has been brought to life once more with a Broadway Musical, featuring dazzling music, sets, and costumes. The score of this famous musical has been Oscar-winning and Tony-nominated, including famous songs like “Be Our Guest’ and “Beauty and the Beast”. The show runs for two and a half hours with one intermission. This musical can be watched from February 16th to February 28th, 2027. 

The Outsiders: This is a musical adapted from the famous book written by S.E. Hinton. The story takes place in the 1950s, exploring the complexities of young people and self-discovery, along with the social norms that were present during the time period (Greasers and Socs). This was the 2024 Tony Award-winning best musical. This musical runs for two and a half hours with one intermission. It can be watched from March 16th to March 28th, 2027. 

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The beloved play has finally come to Cincinnati! This play was added as canon to the Harry Potter series, since J.K. Rowling was one of the writers who wrote the play originally. This two-hour and fifty-five-minute play depicts the story of Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy’s sons as they go through their own years at Hogwarts. The elements in the play are pure magic, and keep the audience on the edge of their seats for the whole show. The play has won six Tony Awards over the years.The show is two hours and fifty-five minutes with one intermission. It will be shown at the Aronoff from April 13th to April 25th, 2027. 

Hadestown: Welcome to Hadestown, and the world of the Greek gods (and the fates). This musical intertwines the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice along with the story of the Gods Hades and Persephone. This phenomenal musical won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album in 2020 and a Tony Award in 2019. This show is two and a half hours long with an intermission. It is showing from May 14th to May 16th, 2027. 

Buena Vista Social Club: Step into the heart of Cuba with this wonderful new musical coming to Cincinnati! In this place, with its blaring horns and satisfying guitars, the real sound of Havana is born. This musical is based on a true story and has won five Tony Awards. It is two hours and ten minutes long, with an intermission included. The showings occur from June 1st to June 13th, 2027.
