Resident Evil is a high-grossing horror/action franchise that’s been credited for defining the horror genre and bringing zombies back into culture. NEW GAME
The Resident Evil franchise is getting its 31st game, called Resident Evil Requiem. Set to release on February 27th, 2026, the game is supposed to have a mixture of first and third-person perspectives. It is scheduled for release on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Requiem is supposed to have two main protagonists. The first one is fan favorite Leon S. Kennedy, who has been the main protagonist for many games. The second is a new character named Grace Ashcroft; information is limited on her, but she’s bringing a new perspective. Leon is going to be played in third person, while Grace is going to be played in first person. Previews suggest that the game will feel like two different experiences depending on the character you’re controlling. Resident Evil Requiem is said to be a direct sequel to another popular game, Resident Evil Village, and is supposed to feature larger, more open environments than previous entries.
WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE STORY
Resident Evil: Requiem appears to take place roughly 30 years after the Raccoon City incident, bringing the series back to familiar locations. Leon’s gameplay focuses on a more action-packed side of the game. Grace’s gameplay is slower-paced and focused on stealth. The enemies in the game aren’t just typical shambling zombies; some have specialized attacks. The game’s story is said to have many puzzles. Overall, Resident Evil: Requiem has generated excitement in the fan base and looks to have a dynamic experience.
