On November 26th, 2025, Netflix released the long-awaited fifth and final season of its most-streamed TV series, according to IMDB, ‘Stranger Things’. The release of the season is divided into three parts: Volume One is being released on November 26, Volume Two on Christmas Day, and the finale on New Year’s Eve, and it’s even available in some theaters. With only the first four episodes being released, fans of the show are already anxiously awaiting what Volume Two has in store for them. The last episodes from Volume One feature lots of plot twists, cliffhangers, unanswered questions, and, of course, the theories are already piling up.
Volume One Recap – Spoilers Ahead!
Picking up from Volume One of season five, here is what we know so far. The fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, has collapsed into the Upside Down, leaving the town isolated and under the protection of the U.S. military. While all the characters are living together in the Wheelers’ house, they all face new challenges. Eleven is training for her upcoming fight with Venca, as the rest of the team prepares to launch another “Crawl” mission that results in Holly Wheeler going missing. Vecna’s intentions become clearer to everyone as they scramble to save as many kids as possible from his plans. Will’s connection to Vecna and the Upside Down intensifies, making it clear that this season, we will be seeing many changes regarding his newfound powers. Max’s body remains in her coma; however, we learn that she is trapped in Venca’s mind, and now, being united with Holly, has a chance to escape for good. In addition, Eleven is reunited with her non-biological sister, Kali.
What to Expect is Coming Next
Volume Two is expected to push everything so far in the series to the max. With Kali coming into the picture and after discovering Will’s new powers, the group has more to work with than ever before to defeat Vecna before his plans become unstoppable. Eleven will likely be facing her biggest challenge yet, that being the absolute extent of her powers, while Will’s connection to the Upside Down hints that he might be the key to ending things for good. The audience is also holding its breath, wondering what role Kali will be playing in all this, being a character last seen in season two; the stakes are high for her return. As the stakes rise, fans sadly acknowledge that sacrifices will be inevitable in the end, and they will be forced to lose some of their favorite characters or watch the downfall of relationships.
