It’s that time of year again! The nominations for the 2026 Grammys have been announced. Who will dominate the categories this year, and who will be snubbed? Let’s dive into these categories and what to expect at the Grammys!
The 2026 Grammys will take place on February 1st, 2026 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be broadcasted live on CBS and Paramount+. On November 7th the nominations were announced, and the top nominees included Kendrick Lamar, with nine nominations, Lady Gaga and Jack Antonoff with seven nominations, and Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and Leon Thomas with six nominations each.
Kendrick Lamar is the first and most notable nominated artist, as he swept the 2025 Grammys, going home with five wins for his hit song “Not Like Us”. He will be returning this year as the most nominated artist repeating in categories including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Performance. Lamar is also up for album of the year, which is an award he has yet to take home.
Joining Lamar in the competitive Album of the Year category include Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, Clipse, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Leon Thomas, and Tyler the Creator. Although none of these artists have ever won this category, every artist except Leon Thomas and Clipse has been previously nominated for Album of the Year.
In both the Song and Record of the Year categories, Billie Eilish is hoping to take home her first win since 2024 for “Wildflower” which was classified as a single this year, making it eligible for a nomination in these categories. It goes without saying that her album “Hit Me Hard and Soft” was undeniably snubbed last year, so many fans look forward to seeing her potential win this year.
In other exciting news, both Rosé and Huntr/x made the record for the first K-pop songs to ever be nominated for Song and Record of the Year for their hit songs “APT” with Bruno Mars and “Golden” from K-pop Demon Hunters.
Although there are many familiar faces within this year’s nominees, there is a notable amount of first-time nominees. Some first-timers include pop singer Addison Rae, who’s up for Best New Artist, Dijon who’s up for Album of the Year (for his contributions to ‘Swag’ by Justin Bieber) Producer of the Year, and Non-Classical. Other deserving nominees include British songwriter, singer and producer PinkPantheress, and breakthrough artist Lola Young.
