Springs Fool! Why Does it Happen?

Springs Fool! Why Does it Happen?

Springs Fool is a media-created season in which it feels like spring and winter at the same time over the course of just 7 days.

Every year we always have a fool’s spring, where it’s sunny and warm, and people start wearing shorts again. All of a sudden a cold front moves in, and it’s cold again; Back to sweatpants and hoodies. It went from summer to winter in 3 days which can be annoying and frustrating. At this point, everyone wants nice spring weather and we are stuck with back and forth. Why does this happen?

There is no actual reason it happens it is just a change in the weather. There is also nothing we can do about it.

It can be a big issue for farmers. The warm temperatures trigger plants to break the cycle and begin growing and blooming. When plants bloom too early, new succulent tissues begin to grow and can be easily damaged by frost. It can destroy crops and can be very frustrating for farmers.

Springs Fool is kinda cool though considering you can live in 2 different seasons at a time. I asked a senior at Lakota West High School how she feels about Springs Fool here is what she has to say.

“It’s annoying because I just want to wear shorts”

Some people hate it and some enjoy it. One day it is summer next day it’s winter. So enjoy it while it lasts, because soon it will be sunny and 90 degrees every day!
