FC Cincinnati Acquire USMNT Defender Deandre Yedlin in Trade

FC Cincinnati Acquire USMNT Defender Deandre Yedlin in Trade

FC Cincinnati has acquired former USMNT right back Deandre Yedlin from Inter Miami, announced Monday.

FCC has sent Inter Miami $172,799 in 2024 General Allocation Money (GAM). The move is very key for Inter Miami as it opens up significant salary-cap space for Inter Miami

Yedlin brings heavy amounts of experience to a young FCC side. Yedlin has played in two FIFA World Cups (2014, 2022) for the USMNT, and has a total of 81 caps.

Yedlin gives FCC a strong right back to partner up with fellow new signing and left back Luca Orellano (on loan from Brazil’s Vasco da Gama), replacing Santiago Arias and Alvaro Barreal who both left this winter. FCC also added fellow USMNT defender Miles Robinson this winter.

FC Cincinnati and Inter Miami are both defending their titles in 2024, with the Supporters’ Shield and Leagues Cup respectively. They are both viewed as heavy MLS Cup favorites, which would be their first cup if either were to win. They will meet at least twice this season, on July 6th at TQL Stadium then on August 24th at Chase Stadium in Miami.

Both clubs are in the Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16. FC Cincinnati with face Liga MX side Monterrey, whilst Inter Miami will meet fellow MLS side Nashville SC.
