Student Opinion
Some people see Sing as just a kid’s movie, childish and simple, more for entertainment than life lessons; however, others view it as surprisingly meaningful, saying it inspired them to keep going, follow their dream, or even change the way they treat others. Take Lakota West student Lucy McCune and Juanita Edwards, for instance.
Juanita conveys her deep affection for Sing by saying, “The reason I like Sing so much is because the movie is not only inspiring but also gives life lessons, Lessons that young people will most likely go through in the duration of their life. Sing teaches how to handle things the right and wrong way, how to motivate, and how to express yourself.”
Lucy adds her own perspective, sharing “Um, well, I wanna say that it is so breathtaking and heart warning you know, quote me on this I say this all the time, but (SPOILERS) the scene where Johnny’s playing the piano and his dad breaks out of prison just to tell him how proud of him he is…, it just gives me the chills every time”
