Join the Firebirds in a night of running, throwing, jumping, and vaulting, April 23rd to celebrate their hard work and achievements for the past 4 years.
What is Senior Night?
Senior Night is a tradition shared among many sports in college and in high school. It’s a time set apart to recognize senior students athletes in participation as their time at the school comes to an end. Seniors on the Track & Field team here at Lakota West will be having their senior night on the 23rd of April. With this date quickly approaching, it’s very important that others come to support their fellow peers and teammates so they can feel loved and appreciated, like other sports are. To be honest, Track & Field doesn’t have much of a fan base to begin with; given the fact that the meets are long and not always within the best weather conditions. But, this can also be seen as an opportunity. One that shows that even though the meets may not be convenient, and not always in a great forecast, you’ll still go out there and support the seniors on their special day. Not only does this show dedication, but it also builds community. When everyone comes together to cheer on the team, it brings people closer!
Date, Time, & Location
As stated previously, if there’s no weather delay or cancellation, the senior night will take place on April 23rd. Lakota West is hosting the meet at their very own Firebirds Stadium. Meets usually start at 4:30 (field events), and then running events at 5:00; but the end of the meets are always to be determined.
