The song debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 to round out the month of October, dethroning Shaboozey’s hit song “A Bar Song (Tipsy) which held the No.1 spot for 15 weeks consecutively. “Love Somebody” currently has amassed over 29 million streams on Spotify.
Album of the Month:
The title of album of the month for October goes to Beautifully Broken by Jelly Roll. Beautifully Broken is Jelly Roll’s tenth studio album. It was released on October 11, 2024, and debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200. The album had two singles: “ I Am Not Okay” and “Liar.” “I Am Not Okay” has seen recent streaming success with almost 59 million streams on Spotify at the time of this article’s release. The album currently holds the No.3 spot on the Billboard 200 to round out the month of October.
Artist of the Month:
The title of artist of the month for October goes to Bruno Mars. Mars has seen a recent resurgence of success following the release of two hit songs: “Die With A Smile,” which he sang with pop superstar Lady Gaga, and “APT.,” which he sang with BLACKPINK member and K-pop singer ROSÉ. Both songs debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and both songs hold the No.1 and No.2 spots on the Billboard Global 200 at the time of this article’s release.

Gone Too Soon
The music world is mourning the loss of former One Direction member Liam Payne. Payne died after falling from the third-story balcony of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was reported that authorities were called by hotel staff roughly ten minutes before the fall, after Payne appeared to be under the influence of drugs and acting erratically and trashing his room. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found Payne lying in an interior courtyard of the hotel; he had suffered fatal injuries from the fall. Following the news of his death, tributes poured in from around the world from Payne’s friends, family, and fans, including ones from his former One Direction bandmates. Payne was 31 years old.
