Disney’s newest animated movie, Zootopia 2, is set to release in theaters on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025. Directors Jared Bush and Byron Howard have come together to bring back the fan favorites, Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman). Zootopia 2 introduces new characters, Zebra party extras (Voiced by CM Punk & Roman Reigns), and Gary De’Snake (Voiced by Ke Huy Quan).

The original Zootopia came out on March 4, 2016, and was an instant hit. It centers around Judy Hopps, the first bunny police officer. She is assigned to solve one of the biggest cases in the city of Zootopia. Judy teams up with con artist Nick Wilde, a fox. They discover the villain of the movie, Mayor Bellwether, is giving tame predators a poison to make them go feral. Judy and Nick save the city by finding out Bellwether’s plan and arresting her. 

Zootopia 2 branches off of the first movie, centering around Judy and Nick’s partnership getting tested as they go undercover for a new case. Gary De’Snake, who is the main focus of this movie, is the first-ever snake in Zootopia to be shown and is also our main villain. Gary makes his appearance at a gala and causes destruction, with his intentions unclear. As the trailer continues, Gary says, “Snakes aren’t the bad guys,” and goes on to show that his family and people are misunderstood. Judy and Nick go to Marsh Market to look for Gary after what seems to be his escape. The trailer ends with Judy falling from a building and Nick trying to save her. Overall, the movie seems like a good addition to the series and will be a hit with the audience.
