
March 21st marked the first game for the Lakota West Boys’ Lacrosse Team. Led by the new senior captain, Tyler Hall, he scored four goals and three ground balls by the end of the game. On defense, Ethan Petters saved thirteen goals, Letting West win 9-10 in overtime. Clayton Annis, Cooper Corcoran, Noah Dean, Brody Hermann, Cole Lewis, and Cooper McKnight scored the six other goals for the Firebirds. This game was a sight to see for both sides of the field. The next game for the Firebirds is March 25 facing off against Oak Hills (0-1).
Overtime Recap
After back-to-back goals, fans were loud and anxious here at Firebird Stadium. The clock counted down from four minutes, then Lakota West lost the faceoff. Early in this overtime, it felt like the game was never going to end, with back-to-back turnovers, drops, and saves everyone was on their feet. Tyler Hall gets around defenders and scores the game-winning goal with 2:22 minutes left. Making this season opener truly undetermined until that last goal.
