Throughout the film, there were lots of paintings that changed up until the end. The changing water wallpaper behind the bed but as the movie progresses the water rises. Meaning no still water which things will get worse and famine and wars progress. Also, the painting in the living room changed, with 4 different figures pointing up while 4 people were in the house. This could also indicate or be similar to the heart rate as the days go by the pulse is inconsistent dealing with different problems throughout the days.
