Although not always valued by every student, studying is a crucial part of a student’s success in the classroom. Throughout the years of going to school, most students have created their own studying habits or routines that have the best success rate and that help retain the information that they are going over. The West Press interviewed several students on what they personally do in order to study and prepare for tests in order to have the best possible outcomes on their assignments and tests.
One of the ways that Lakota West students said that was a great way for them to study was to review with teachers. “When I’m struggling with work or don’t know how to do something in my classes, I try my best to ask my teachers for review” said sophomore Sophia Barela. Barela also stated that she knows that sometimes her teachers can be busy so another way that she likes to study is by, “watching Khan Academy videos or watching YouTube videos of other teachers teaching the subject.”
Another way that students said was a productive way to study was to make flashcards for the specific subject that they are needed for. The West Press interviewed freshman Adex Scherzinger, who said that, “The best way to study for me is to make flashcards and study with like my parents or a friend or something. I like to just get homework done at school so that I can have a quiet place to study at my house.”
Overall, what we gathered from interviewing these students was that whatever works best for you personally, is what study method you should use!
