Yury is a 17-year-old student in her first year of journalism. Yury has been in Lakota since kindergarten. After high school, she would like to study either music therapy or psychology. She is interested in writing about culture and opinion. The reason she joined Journalism is to come out of her comfort zone. She is Catholic and loves serving at her Parish. She is in her Parish and school’s choir and is currently learning how to play the violin. She speaks Spanish and English. Lastly, A Proud Young Guatemalan.
