Hodges is the French teacher for 2, 3, and AP French as well as the French Club Advisor, French National Honor Society Sponsor, and the Gay/Straight/Trans Alliance Advisor.
Why did you decide to become a teacher?
“I liked French, but didn’t want to be a translator. French was my favorite class in high school, so much that I was obsessed with it. I went to my French classroom in the beginning and at the end of the day and during lunch because it felt very safe. I want to create a safe space for students, also.”
If you could have any animal as a pet what animal would it be, and why?
“I love cats but I can’t have one because I rent. They are awesome because you can leave them be; they do their own thing.”
What would be described as a perfect day for you?
“Going to Findlay Market in the morning, then having brunch downtown, and then going to Skyzone.”
If you could meet one celebrity, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
“I think Prince, because he is a genius but never really talked about himself or his music a lot, so I would want to ask him about it.”
What’s your favorite book and why?
“The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It’s my favorite book because it changed who I thought I could be.”
If you could travel to any country, what country would it be and why?
“Right now probably Germany so I could practice my German. Germany or Austria.”
