Chicken wings, by far, are one of the most popular food choices during the Super Bowl season, with about 1.45 million wings being consumed in 2024, and are projected to go up to 1.47 million.
Sure, there will be pizza, guacamole, chips and dips, but when it comes to the Super Bowl, chicken wings rule the roost – National Chicken Council Spokesperson, Tom Super.
As a wing enthusiast and self-proclaimed chicken ambassador, it’s my duty to figure out which places have the best taste and prices so that others can go to these fast food restaurants with the right expectations.
Rating from top to bottom. 5 being least satisfied, 1 being most.
Wingstop, like most chicken places, offers a sauce or dryrub (normal seasoning) to flavor their wings. The sauce, depending on which one chooses, often lacks flavor. I could sit here and name every sauce on the menu, but that would take forever. A couple, just for example, like Lemon Pepper and Mango Habanero don’t have the kick that one may find at another wing place – it’s bland. The chicken itself is on the tougher side, and although still enjoyable to eat, there’s better. The wings are also smaller compared to others, and could have better quality. While the main focus today is just the wings, it would be criminal not to give Wingstop their props regarding their fried corn and tenders, as well as their iconic ranch, which single-handedly carries the restaurant. As for prices, they’re on the less expensive side, with 10 wings being $12.99, but also including a drink, two flavors, and a side of regular fries. That’s $1.20 per wing, in addition to the rest of the combo deal. Other deals can be found on the Wingstop site (click header), not including mobile delivery apps such as DoorDash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats.
Buffalo Wings and Rings, commonly mistaken for Buffalo Wild Wings, rank #4 on this list because, though they are not the best, they surely aren’t the worst. The wings are small, like Wingstop, and aren’t always cooked hard enough. They lack the crispiness most wing lovers tend to look for and don’t hold flavor all that well. But, they’re still of nice quality. Again, depending on what flavor one chooses, their perspective of how the wings taste will be different, but overall, the sauces are savory and the chicken is tender. Wings and Rings offers deals like the Big Game Meal that feeds 4-5 people; all for the price of $39.60 (comes with 20 wings and 2 sides), perfect for a Thursday night get-together while watching an NFL game.
WNB Factory, also known as Wings and Burger Factory is ranked #3 solely based on their prices. This fast-food restaurant offers 12 wings, bone-in, for $17! The wings are similar to Wings and Rings. Nothing too special, but still good for snacking on. There’s not a lot to say about this place other than the fact that they are cheaper than most wing6 restaurants. The wings are smaller in size but carry flavor well.
The better buffalo, Buffalo Wild Wings, is a personal favorite of mine. The sauces are so well-seasoned that there’s no need to dip them into any ranch or bleu cheese. The wings are a good size, not too small, not too big, and have the perfect crispiness. B-Dubs can easily tie with the number one spot, the only downside is the incident that happened back in August 2025. A customer (me) ordered 10 wings around 11 pm through DoorDash. When the customer got the notification that her food had arrived, there were only 5 wings. This devastated her. Unfortunately, she never got a refund or compensation, even after calling Buffalo Wild Wings and contacting the Dasher. Still, overall, Buffalo Wild Wings will remain in the top 3 because the taste and quality of the wings override any accident. The prices are a little high, but it’s worth every penny.
Last but certainly not least is the new chicken shop located in West Chester: Wing Snob. Prices at this point don’t matter, as long as they continue to make their flavorful, crispy, hot & ready wings. There are plenty of Super Bowl-friendly options that will serve up to 15.
Honorable Mention: The fries are perfectly seasoned and hollow. Best I’ve tasted so far.
