NGOs are an essential part of civil society, bridging the gaps that may be left by a formal institution.

They also provide assistance to the most generous groups in terms of social security and equality. Through their programs and projects, these organizations contribute to development and improve the quality of life. As Nelson Mandela said: “NGOs are the voice of the voiceless, and the hope of the hopeless.”

Despite the engine they play, NGOs face many challenges. These challenges include legal restrictions and political pressures. In addition, these organizations may face difficulties in accessing remote areas or events.

As Kofi Annan said: “Action is the highest expression of solidarity and expertise.”

Celebrating this day raises awareness of the importance of NGOs and encourages support for them.
