It isn’t the first and it isn’t the last of the Los Angeles Wildfires. The destructive wildfires started on January 7th, 2025, and reached full containment more than three weeks later on January 31st. The fires, which have killed at least __ people, have been named Eaton and Palisades, they are one of the most deadliest and crucial.
Damage caused by Palisades
These fires have been consuming Los Angeles for the last few weeks, causing most of the civilians who once lived there to evacuate and come back to houses that are now ashes.
Through the Palisades’ destruction, the ending total was 6,800 different structures causing the most found in the neighborhood of Pacific Palisades of Las Angeles and Malibu burning up to 23,448 acres. The fire has also caused damage to people with two people missing from the Palisades fire.
Damage caused by Eaton
Although the Eaton fire still caused destruction, the Palisades fire caused far more damage to construction, considering the 9,400 structures lost in the Eaton fire and the 14,021 acres burned to the ground. Unfortunately, the Eaton fire impacted people far more, with twelve people missing.
Next Steps
With the fire now contained and the evacuations lifted there is not much left for LA to do other than rebuild and for the citizens to come and see what is left of their unfortunate future. With all the damage caused by the fires the city is unable to say when it will be back to what it was before, but it is known that the people there will never be the same.
Although L.A does not look the greatest at this point in time after watching videos and listening to the news almost every person has said “I am still very glad to be alive and appreciative of the community coming together.” With all the damage produced it is shocking to see that such a community can still have so much hope in their misfortune.
