On February 23 each year, the world celebrates the International Day of Peace and Understanding, a day to highlight the importance of understanding and dialogue as two fundamental pillars of world peace. In a world full of conflict and tension, this day is a powerful reminder of international pressure, cooperation and mutual respect between different peoples and cultures. As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is a powerful tool for engaging the world.” Education about the values of peace and understanding is the foundation for building a better future.
Peace is not merely the absence of war and conflict, but a state of mind and agreement built on a foundation of mutual understanding and trust. Through constructive dialogue and mutual respect for values and beliefs, we transcend the limitations of the structure of communication bridges that pave the way for a more peaceful and stable world. As Martin Luther King said, “We have learned to fly the air like birds and swim the sea like fishes, but we have not yet learned the little art of living together as brothers.”
To achieve this goal, we must increase efficiency at all levels, whether at the individual, personal or international level. By promoting education and awareness of the importance of peace and understanding, we can build more tolerant and peaceful societies.
