New York Fashion Week just kicked off as the lights dimmed and the final models took their walk, New York Fashion Week cemented itself as a season of amazing fashion lines. Where nostalgia met futurism and minimalism took off the main stage. This year’s showcase proved why NYFW remains the most innovative center of creativity in the fashion world.
Marc Jacobs opened the week with their new collection reminiscent of 1990s downtown New York showcasing oversized coats, shredded denim, and the heaviest combat boots seen truly setting a rebellious tone. As always Marc Jacobs kept it fresh, incorporating new style and unforgettable fabrics that truly explains high fashion. From there Tory Burch opted for a quiet sophistication, focusing on their crisp tailoring and having structured blazers making it feel like a refined take on the 70s which truly was a standout piece. Lastly, Micheal Kors boasted their amazing new collection of sleek monochrome suits and tailored coats. Of course, there were many other brands but those were the main ones that surprised people showing what true fashion is.
But New York Fashion Week wasn’t just about clothes but the amazing moments that happened around them. Starting from Rihanna stealing the show at the Savage X Fenty collab with a surprise to the runway which made the crowd go insane. Then we had Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner making headlines as they sat together at the LaQuan Smith show.
While Designers looked at past inspirations others pushed their boundaries of sustainability, inclusivity, and material experimentation. One thing is truly certain: New York Fashion Week will remain the heartbeat of America’s fashion, looking brighter than before as the fashion moves on to London, Milan, and Paris, all eyes remain on the trends, statements, and moments born right here in New York.
