Back in 2022, Stephen “tWitch” Boss passed away due to suicide at only 40 years old. His wife, Allison Holker, is now coming out about the newest revelations she has made and even writing a memoir, “This Far,” about her late husband, which comes out in February. Both gained most of their fame from Season 7 of So You Think You Can Dance, and tWitch was even the DJ for the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Despite the circumstances, Holker is receiving criticism about publishing, even from family members, and she is attempting to fight back.
People Magazine interviewed Holker where she shared that when preparing for his funeral, she went through his closet with a friend and found many drugs hidden in shoeboxes, some of which she had to look up what they were. She claims she had no idea about any of these and how much he was suffering in secrecy. She said it was a scary moment, but she then realized how much embarrassment he must have felt. By writing her memoir, she wants to celebrate his life and achievements and help others recognize similar situations. But, people across the internet are not viewing it like that and instead, view it as a public shaming of his personal life, ruining his legacy.
As for her family members, they are furious at Holker, especially since she’s been treating them like “garbage” since the beginning. They claim she is spreading major lies about tWitch’s life, overshadowing his true loving, loyal, and fun personality. One of tWitch’s family members even tweeted that “This crazy woman made me and his actual family including his mom sign a non-disclosure agreement just to attend the funeral”, which is a legal contract that creates a confidential relationship between two people. Multiple other family members are responding saying that Holker hasn’t let anyone see their kids since the funeral in 2023. Overall, the family feels disrespected and finds it disgusting that Holker would do something like this. His mom especially wanted to keep quiet to keep the family safe, and that is now ruined.
Holker wanted people to know that it’s okay to feel all the emotions and that everyone may be battling something, even if others don’t know about it. But, even though the memoir isn’t out yet, the public thinks it’s disrespectful to broadcast information tWitch kept a secret for a reason. They realize that Holker is going through a hard time herself, but they also think that she shouldn’t out her late husband to overshadow her own suffering.
