It’s Turkey Time! Celebrating on November 27th, Thanksgiving is almost near! Besides the magnificent food and feasts, Thanksgiving is a time for fun with family and friends. There are so many ways to express gratitude to loved ones.
Hope & Strength Gives Thanks
This year, Lakota West is using its new Hope & Strength group to spread love and give thanks. During lunch this week, group members are giving out strips of paper for students to write what gives them strength. These papers will be made into chain links to show how we are stronger together. In addition, students can write notes to people they are thankful for and send them to that person’s fourth bell class.
Outside of school, students and staff can give so much more to show their gratitude towards their family and community. One common tradition families do is go around the table and say one thing they are thankful for. Another fun tradition for the children of the family is to paint turkeys!
Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community. There are so many shelters and food pantries in need of volunteers. Tasks can be as simple as making care packages, handing out hot meals, or even just reading a children’s book. If you or your family is interested in helping out click here.
