It’s been about two months since the last police edition was published as the school year had come to an end. In this edition, we’ll be focusing on a driver killing 1 and leaving another injured, and two people charged after a road rage incident turned violent.
A driver has been arrested after a motorcycle crash on State Route 747 near Duff Drive in West Chester. The crash happened at around 2 a.m. on Sept. 10th. The driver of the motorcycle was hospitalized and the passenger was identified as 27-year-old Jessica Taleff, who has unfortunately passed away. 38-year-old Samuel Ankrah was the driver of the Mazda who hit the back of the motorcycle and was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. The current condition of the two is unknown at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
A road rage incident occurred on State Route 747 and Mulhauser Road but quickly turned violent. The couple, whose names have not yet been released, says they were being brake-checked and got beaten with a baton when pulled over. The couple got hit in the head and torso but the attackers were punched as well. The attackers were identified as 37-year-old Hector Manzanares and 30-year-old Victor Schneider. The couple also mentioned that they had a baby in the backseat whose window was broken with a crowbar. Hector Manzanares is charged with two counts of felonious assault, meanwhile, Victor Schneider is charged with assault.
Most of us are at the age of learning how to drive, or even already driving. Remember to be careful on the roads and do not partake in any sort of road rage. It’s important to put your and other passengers’ safety first. Always make sure to wear your seatbelt and stay safe.
