Everyone has seen the kids that walk through the halls delivering passes to students in other classes. These are Lakota West’s Office Aids, kids who have a free bell during the day and help out in the counselor’s office delivering passes. Senior Office Aid Prem Patel describes how it is “Fun to hand out passes, you get to walk around a little bit. Often I get to meet new friends and see old teachers. You need to be well acquainted with the building to know where certain room numbers are.”
Although they may seem like a minor part of our building, Prem describes the job as the “glue of the school” and a “responsibility.” Students need to receive messages about where they need to be, and they may be urgent at some points. Lakota West is very grateful for the office aids, helping students out majorly. As Prem states: “With great power comes great responsibility.”
