Lanyards

Lanyards

The last time most of us used lanyard hall passes, we were still learning how to add fractions. Now, years later, Lakota West has implemented lanyard hall passes required to leave class. That means if you want to go anywhere, not only do you have to sign out, but you also must wear the lanyard around your neck. Mr. Brown, principal of Lakota West, said these passes were necessary. He says the administration wanted to “try a new system that would help decrease [the amount] of students lost in the hallway.” Basically, by keeping track of everyone, they can make sure students are “maximizing learning” and minimizing roaming in the hallways. We won’t be getting rid of the lanyards anytime soon as Mr. Brown explained that they are planning to stick with it until there is a sharp decrease in students leaving without permission. So forever.

The moral is, stay in class and don’t wander the halls. Maybe then we won’t have to look like third graders.
