On April 7, 2021, Lakota West Girls Lacrosse smashed Lakota East for the first time in five years. The score was an impressive 20-12, with the lead scorers being Maddie Saylor, Morgan Wheby, and Faith Hess. The game started off with West in the lead, and they held East at bay until the end, where East attempted a lackluster comeback.. This win for West also severed a three-game losing streak. Midfielder Lucy Schaefer, stated: “the win really helped us get back on our feet.” They went on to win their next two games, and have been undefeated until just recently. Clara Adkins noted, that “the effort from everyone was great… and the energy really helped push everyone.” All in all, this win was huge not only for the night but was a monumental win that will help propel the team throughout the season.
