The brisk air pushing the scrapping leaves across the tough gravel is what people most think of when Halloween comes to mind. Often, people love to celebrate Halloween by dressing up or going trick-or-treating, but due to COVID-19, Halloween will be different this year. According to the Center for Disease Control, trick-or-treating is a high-risk activity and should be avoided due to the amount of personal. Other activities we associate with fall that are also considered high-risk are going to fall festivals, attending costume parties, and visiting haunted houses. However, with the proper precautions in place, such as safe social distancing, wearing a mask at all times, and avoiding contact with others, these activities can still be enjoyed.
This year, West Chester Township and Liberty Township will allow trick-or-treating, and it will be held from 6-8. For people who would prefer to avoid the crowds this Halloween, activities that are considered low-risk according to the CDC are carving pumpkins with your family, socially-distanced Halloween costume contest, Halloween movie night with your family, and decorating your home with Halloween decorations. While this Halloween will be different than usual, there are still safe ways to have fun and enjoy the holiday.
